Default Joining the Sangha
Here lately, I've been really disillusioned with the world. I was considering joining the Sangha. The problem is, that I've already joined twice. I did not go any higher than a novice. The first time I joined, it was never considered to be longer than a week, as I still had school and a job. The second time, was a few months ago. I feel as though I was pressured to leave by family and friends. Would you feel as though it would be rude to go and ask to be re ordained (with proper time for me to think it over). Everything in my life has cooled down recently, and I feel as though I made a huge mistake by leaving.

Definity not, JCC

It would not be rude at all. I trust you will receive support although probably be given a probation period.

With metta

Thanks everyone :]

The only concern I have is that I'm thinking of going to the same temple, one close to my house. It would be easier if I had an accepting family like that. It's quite hard to get anywhere when everyone you are surrounded by is fundamentalist Christians, but I'll make it work. It'll be hard to convince my parents to allow me to go to full ordination, but all things in time.

If that's the case then I recommend you don't ordain at the temple close to your home.

If you are thinking long term this time then a short flight half way across the world shouldn't be a barrier, being in a foreign environment might do you good.

I understand that ordaining more than 3 times is considered "bad luck" at least in Thailand, I'm not sure if novice ordinations count though.
