Default Coolness
I was thinking about coolness as the absence of the heat of anger and other afflictive emotions - and I wondered if anyone knew of any sutta references which mention the word coolness in this context, please?

I wasn't able to find a sutta reference for coolness, but I came across this transcript of a short talk by Ajahn Chah-

"Right View - the Place of Coolness"

The Fire Sermon is as close as I can get at the moment. It's among my favorite suttas.

Thanks FBM. I also found the following comment from Ajahn Buddhadasa -

"The word "nibbana" means "cool." Back when it was just an ordinary word which people used in their homes it also meant "cool."

When it is used as Dhamma language, in a religious context, it still means "cool," but refers to cool from the fires of defilement (kilesa), while in the common people's usage it means cool from physical fires."
