I would like to know how to calculate the paid vacation and if this is an extra payment on top of the usual salary.

if the employee takes the vacation, you pay him/her the same as if they were working. Most companies pay this in advance of the vacation.

if the employee gets paid the vacation and works (where they don't take the days off), then they are paid double for those vacation days worked.
