Default Your Favourite Tipple
Really suffering the strains of a monster hangover this morning. I was dragged out straight from work yesterday and it turned into a long one! As bad as I feel, I discovered I have a taste for Disarrono and lots of it! Never had it before and it's like drinking liquid tiramisu. i'm hooked!

The people I work with over here are lovely but their tastes in alcohol rarely extend beyond the cheapest lager a bar has to offer. What are my fellow Australians drinking at the moment? I need to give these people some inspiration...

Without wishing to paint myself as a complete drunk, I actually have a list!

  • Eighty Shillings (the traditional pint of Scottish 'Heavy' and so thick, you could live on it without ever having to eat again).
  • Guinness (peaty, full of iron and supposedly very good for you)
  • Glenfiddich (best of the popular and affordable single malt whiskey choices)
  • Glendronach (expensive, but I had the pleasure of trying the 25 year old once or twice and it's the best whiskey on the planet by a distance)
  • The BMW (Baileys, Malibu and Whiskey). Falling over guaranteed but tastes incredible!
  • Liquorice Sambuca (tacky but fun)
  • Black Cherry sours (even more tacky and even more fun)
  • Amstell 1870 Lager (the only thing of any note that Holland has ever produced that you don't have to smoke!)

if you can find it anywhere, try Rekorderlig Strawberry and Kiwi Fruit Cider. They're a Swedish company and not many places stock it in Australia but it's a brilliant drink for really hot days. Sweet, full of flavour and you get drunk on it without realising!!!!!
