This article has a link to a video of the #00 qualifying crash. I shivered when I saw it live on tv, I said to myself "that poor kid is dead".
A real tribute to the new car and the soft walls that this kid walked away under his own power. http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/head...dex.html?imw=Y |

That reminds me so much of Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s final moments in a race car. I wasnt a big Dale fan but had respect because he was one of the best... My buddy was down there when it happened...Hours after the race when they announced it he said it was damn near a riot amongst fans... |

Tony is right In regards to the crash, I saw the replay as I was tending bar with that channel on, but making a couple drinks at the time. The replay showed a huge dent in the wall. I was completely dumfounded at that. That is one lucky kid. Also on the being a lapped car and fighting for your position despite the leaders being there. I think there's a time and a place for it. If it's the end of the race, just let the leaders go. They'll return the favor in the future. If it's near the beginning or middle, yeah, you want to fight. You still have a chance of winning. |
