You probably can but I don't particularly want to be a mechanic as a career. I just want to know how to modify cars. Whether they are mine or someone elses.
I llearnt plenty just from me and my mates pissing about with each others cars... We all tend to pretend we know what we are talking about when it comes to working on cars but most of us don't.

Default Car Modifying
I have been trying to get a job at a mechanics for a while now and none of them will return my emails or calls... I really want to learn about how a car fits together and how to modify it but I can't drive (I'm 16) so I need somewhere like a mechanics to learn. Is there any other way to learn? I guess by books but I wouldn't know what books to buy... Any suggestions?

The best way to learn is by teaching yourself, but its very time consuming and requires alot of patience or you could just call around and ask if they do internship....
