thats exactly what my husband said when I told him what I put the reserve price at, I guess I could always change the reserve price .....maybe the bids will go up in the next 5 days

Usually the price slowly goes up, but the real fight begins last day, most likely las hours. Looking at your auction where 4 guys were intersted and the last one bumped from $60 to $200 you should get some decent proce. You can still bump the reserve, but It might be interesting even without it :-)

Default question for you automotive guru's
My husband has a carburetor that he wants me to put for sell on ebay. Its a Barry Grant Speed Demon 850 Carburetor Holley Edelbrock (thats how he had me list it).
My question is, what is the reserve price that I should put on it? I am gonna start it out at .99cents but I feel that there should be a reserve price to put on it and I have no clue on how much these things cost or are worth?
I would ask my husband but he isnt here and is not answering his phone and I am almost done with the listing and dont wanna back out now it. Help!

have you thought about calling around to a couple of garages? or doing a google search for priced parts? I would think they would give you a price to go on and then add 10 % for a profit!
Good luck!

I havent thought about calling around to some garages (even though they would probably laugh at me lol) but I also did think about doing a google search either. Your idea did give me another idea too....I bet I could look at other carburetors for sale on ebay and go from there?

i think it would be good to do the search just to get some feelers on prices. i also wouldn't start the bidding at such a low price (god forbid you have that one piece of equipment someone was looking for and bid on it only to find you could have got a huge ammount for it!!)
Good Luck!

Thus the reason for the reserve pricing question. If you start low, to attract more potential bidders, but the final bid is does not meet your reserve price, you do not have to complete the transaction, or so to my knowledge. Look it up in the FAQ/A&A/Terms for more concrete information.
