Default O/R H pipe on my Mach
Holy SMOKES, boys and girls! I put an off-road H-pipe on my Mach over the weekend and went out and drove it for the first time today.

Sounds GREAT and runs like a feral cat with Ben Gay squirted up it's butt!! Just deep, throaty and growly tone, and it's bitchin at 7,000 rpms!!!

Stevie, do you have an O/R X or H? Just wondering...

4V =

Man, thats awesome...Get us some vid's with drive by's, idle and whatnot. Would love to hear the H.
yes, yes. Shortly, my gearnut brethren!

It REALLY sounds throaty, and it roars from the cockpit. Right around 3,500 it has some bitching resonance that makes my teeth rattle.

My wife's going to HATE it, which means it's been done right.

I'll try to get some vids this weekend. I have an old 8mm (don't laugh) but I have a buddy with a hot LS1 bird with a digicam. He's just as stoked as I am.

What I couldn't believe was how EASY it was. Literally, took me less than an hour. Hardest part was keeping the U-joint extension from binding up on the driver side.

I wish! Just a Texanism for money, since we eat a lot of chili down yonder.

As far as other mods, I have a JLT ram air intake, PHP intake spacer, 4.10 gears, Steeda TriAx shifter and will soon have my handheld DiabloSport Predator tuner dialed in by the Illinois Dyno Center.

I'll be looking for 310ish RWHP on the dyno once I get it tuned.

125 shot at the wheel before christmas.

If I can sell my hardtail, momma sez I can have a blower.

With stock guts, I'll live with 450ish at the wheels on the sauce. No need for a blower then, and I'll spend $1,000 on it instead of $4K

On tap or on a switch? I'm not sure which is better.

I just can't get my mind around the difference in capital outlay for the same result at the wheel.

You have less chance for failure in my opinion. Lets say the manual switch sticks and your ignition was cranked up for what was supposed to be a nice cool mixture of NoS, fuel and air....Boom, chuga luga, detonation. I guess you could have the same issues with a microcontroller, but you have many other options with the controller. Like gradually turning on the NOS in stages, depending on RPM, what gear, etc.
Very true. I can think of a bunch of scary scenarios for power adders making an engine go boom.
No lie, a buddy named Adam with a full bolt-on 03 GT making 370 at the wheel on a 100 shot and he dropped a valve and everything went BOOM.

I will have every fail switch you can think of.

Good plan. The Mach on sauce will be nasty. Huge torque numbers to be sure.
YES, and with that factory compression I'm going to be FEELING the torque.

Whaddaya wanna bet that the 125 shot will give me 175 foot pounds?

With the bolt-ons, I'm thinking I'll see 310/335 at the wheels, and with the gas, I'd bet those numbers are going to be 440/500 .

We shall see.

Holy crap, I'm gettin a chubby! I know it's going to kick ass!

I'm going to do some research on the Registry and see what torque numbers Mach boys are getting on the juice and report my findings.

...I need mo' horsies!!
I was just about to go, "This fool is making 600+ at the wheel and homosezWHAT?"

Then I remembered: I just got my O/R H on, cranked the exhaust note up quite nicely.

Now that I've driven it a few days, rapped it off for some buddies, ran it up to 7 grand a few times, and wasted peeeelenty of gas, I'm thinking, "That thing needs a 3.5" catback, 4" tips and some SLP Loudmouth I's!"

It's never enough!

All stock gearing, the 3.55s along with the stock T-56 6th gear. I clocked 22 MPG averaging 84MPG through SD, Montana, and Idaho (the speed limit is a generous 75 on I-90 through there). I was pleasantly surprised.
technology is a beautiful thing, ain't it? Almost 700 brake HP out of something less that 300 cubic inches. And then to have it average over 20 mpg on the big road? Can you even imagine how much gasoline it would take to make 700 HP out of a 428 CJ, a 7.0L? You MIGHT get 12-14 on the highway, and that's if you had 3.23's

Its around town that sucks where I am averaging around 11-12MPGs. I'm sure your right foot has something to do with that.
I barely got 200 miles outta my first tank with the O/R H, just listening to it roar around the gears.

I'm sure you have full O/R exhaust. Do you have any clips of your car anywhere?

-Bassani X with the cats
Cats!! BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCREW the atmosphere! I WANT DECIBELS!!!

I need to put a sound clip together...I don't have any right now and do not have a camcorder...Need one of those! A digital one is on my wish list as we speak and for this very reason.

With all the coin you spent on that thing, and the amount of air you're moving, I'm a little surprised you didn't got with LT's and a prochamber.

Haha. I had to have cats in NC for state inspections, they do visual in Raleigh. The reason I didn't go with LTs was because I didn't want to have to spend more money on a new X pipe that would fit the LTs. The mid-lengths were a perfect fit with the bassani X. Only reason. Plus, I didn't want to add to the limited ground clearance I already have.
you are wise, President.
