Default Patrick Head leaves F1.
Just spotted this:

Williams stalwart Patrick Head, one of the Formula 1 paddock's best known figures, has decided to move away from the sport after the end of the 2011 campaign. Williams stalwart Patrick Head to end his F1 involvement at the end of 2011 - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com

Not a bad career and he certainly steps away with alot to be proud of. Nice one Patrick, enjoy your retirement.

One of F1's greats. He will be missed at Williams I'm sure.

I have to say that it is amazing, how consistent the leadership of Williams has been in F1 terms. Frank and Patrick have been the leading figures of the team this year, they were also 30+ years ago! Who else can even remotely claim that? Ron Dennis became McLaren's team principal in 1981, so he comes close.

But one day all of that has to come to an end and I suspect Frank may not stay around for many more seasons either. Let's see, how can this 'new' team carry on the legacy of Williams.

Rarely do you see someones personality define a whole team as much as the sheer stubbornness of Patrick Head and Frank Williams. Without the combination of the two Williams would never have emerged as one of F1's great teams. One of the greats of F1, definitely.

I assume Patrick had a good New Years party to celebrate the last day of his involvement with Williams and one would assume the sport.

Not even a spare seat in the board of directors.

Unsurprisingly:

Why will he not be there? Williams and Head were both unavailable for comment on Monday. I'm told, though, that his difficult relationship with chief executive officer Adam Parr was a part of Head's decision to step down.

More trouble for Williams, they need all the experience they can get at the moment.

He is leaving the sport after Williams' worst season in history...

Oh well, I'm sure he has his reasons and now that he has sold his shares in the stock market, no reason to hang around anymore I guess.

Do we think he will hover around F1 at all, or have we seen the last of Patrick.
