Every time I see this thread on the home page I think of an image of a spotty 14yr old Vettel holding some old vinyl LP's of Kraftwerk and that bird with the hairy pits that sung about Red Balloons......
Could be worse: every time I see anything to do with Vettel I think of Justin Bieber

"Of course not because he knows we don't like it. We had done our best to manage it, we had turned all the engine modes down, KERS off, and short of putting a cow on the circuit there was not a lot else we could do." -Horner

After the last race , apparently , Seb said he wouldn't do it again .

It must be tempting , though , when you're in a car that has engine modes down and KERS off , and you can still grab the fastest lap .

Did Horner give a little too much away there ?
Are they , or is he , really that much faster than all the rest ?
Or , were they , or he , just demoralizing the opponents ?

Rapunzel is overrated and lucky. Look at what button did when he had the best car in the first half of 2009? No one will call him a special driver. Rapunzel has just been lucky in that he has had a more dominant car than what Button had for 2 years now (not to mention having the best car in the 2nd half of 2009 as well).

So far Rapunzel iis not good enough to smell Schumi's or Senna's farts.

That must make Webber lucky, overrated, and very slow to boot.

Oh, but RB DID copy the diffusor!
A simple thing like changing the mapping dices up the order. Silverstone anyone?
Only a crap pit stop by RBR lost Vettel the win there.

Really? Ferrari certainly didn't look like 3rd fastest that weekend. Even tire temps weren't in their favor there!

Not being able to overtake Hamilton didn't help either.

Exactly, I think Kimi, Lewis, Jenson, and Fernando have all proved what they can do when they have the fastest car in the past. Seb is riding the crest of a wave at the moment and doing everything right, but he's only doing what all the other top drivers can do IMO.

To a very little degree you are right. For example, Seb is only agressive when needed, competing for fastest laps, yes, when both titles was secured. He keps his cool nearly everytime.

Putting the best engineers and drivers together is never a sure thing, and with regs changing every season its a gamble whatever team you are in. Theres such a fine line in F1 and although Red Bull are ahead, they are mostly only ever half a second off the rest. Look at Schumacher on his return. He never really stepped away from the sport and has often been credited with how he reads given situations and how he puts his feedback across, but Mercedes have struggled in the last two seasons. The emphasis is never solely on the driver which is why when the team get it right, a good driver makes the difference. We see that with Vettel, but his opponents have done similar in the past. They might not have capitalized as dominantly (apart from Button first half '09), but we've not had many season's where a team have developed so confidently and consistently IMO. This sort of thing never lasts forever though. Its all about having the full package and for now Red Bull have that.

I agree but he's not had many situations this season to deal with that would make him lose his cool has he? In fairness the guy has got the maximum out of the car on a Saturday and headed into the race knowing he has pole position. Recently he's made 2 very good overtakes for the lead, but that very different to drivers battling in dirty air and making several overtakes a race. Lewis has made a meal of this lately and there's no excuses there, but Vettel is in a unique position at the moment and handling it very well. I know with his pole/win streak he's being tipped as the best ever and its easy to jump on that bandwagon, but I think there are a few others who have shown their brilliance in the past who could handle the position he's in. If we head into 2012 and Red Bull are no longer the fastest team with Vettel not winning every week, that does not suggest Seb is any less talented, but it would highlight the importance of having the full package IMO. When you joined here Mia you were convinced Button was the best driver on the grid and you couldn't mention him enough. Now you support Seb because he's in that same position. You need to understand that F1 is a competitive business and the best drivers are not always given the best cars. It doesn't make them any less worthy of our respect IMO.

Iīm still one of Jensons fans, his driving style reminds me of Sebs. Jenson is not only a very fast driver, he uses his brain as a strategic veapon, he and Fernando share that usefull skill.

Seb and Jenson is not only the fastest F1 drivers, they behave very good off track as far as I know of, not to cooky and arrogant.

And yes, two years at THIS board, I like it here. Chatting about F1 on the net since the beginning of 2000 if I remember correctly. Perhaps I OWN you that information.
