Monteiro (He was just a decent back marker), Baumgartner (Again same), Montoya (I just miss him, OK), Wilson (Should be given a asecond chance) and Doornbos (He is in a way, but deserves more).

Scott Dixon can definitely make the grade in F1--still.

Albers was a mobile chicane Dixon should be a starter though.

The only driver in that list that I believe deserves a second (or third) chance, this time with a mid-field team is Montiero, but if Bordais is successful Doornbos should certainly be given a chance as he has matched him in ChampCar at times. Then there are guys like Neel Jani who deserve some sort of a drive.

I think Monteiro and Klien deserve another chance - neither drove for particularly strong teams but both put in impressive performances given their machinery.

I think Scott Dixon also deserves a chance, easily the best "road course" driver in the IRL. I think he'd do well.

I also think Danica Patrick deserves a go. I don't know if she'd be very successful but I think she deserves a chance. She might suprise us.

I would have said Vanina Ickx as well, before her stint in DTM; but I definitely think she deserves a run in top level sports cars instead, and maybe a testing role.

Narain Karthikeyan - given some time to knock off the rough edges he may be half decent.
Christian Klien - he's probably better than his results indicated but I don't think he'd ever get above the midfield.
Alexandre Premat - don't know enough about him other than seeing him in a couple of A1GP races.
Giorgio Pantano - no chance.
Gianmaria Bruni - see above and double it.
Markus Winklehock - don't know about his speed but he seemed very cool under pressure.
Sakon Yamamoto - you're joking, right?
Christijan Albers - didn't impress at all and had enough time to do so if he was capable. He wasn't.
Tiago Montiero - Better suited to ChampCar.
Ralf Schumacher - doesn't deserve all the hate that gets sent his way but his time in F1 has passed.
Michael Ammermuller - don't know enough about him to say.
Yuji Ide -

I don't quite share those high opinions about Monteiro as he was a bit slower than that now very lowly rated Albers.

I think we have a very good grid at the moment and it's even hard to say, who should definetely be in (it should mean that he is definetely better than some F1 drivers). Let's not talk about rookies - they'll get their chance sooner or later. Among those, who have already got a chance and aren't race nor test drivers now, I guess Speed and Doornbos may have most to offer.

For fun I'd like to see Alex Yoong back for a moment - wonder, how much would he lose now per lap? Considering his A1 drives I guess he is now better than back in 2002.

Franck Montagny. I think if he could just get a seat with a major team, he'd be set for life.

Jeff and Robbie Gordon are just too old to transition to F1.

I think Justin Wilson was too soured by his time in F1 to want to come back. The same goes for Doornbos.

Aside from Ralf Schumacher, none of the names on the OP's list really scream "F1 driver" to me.

Marco Andretti. I'd like to see him win the Indy 500, then move to GP2, Champ Car, or test for a year before going to F1.

I think Danica Patrick is better on road courses than ovals. She says her bigggest problems are adjusting to heavy fuel loads and cold tires after pit stops. Neither of which would be a problem in F1.

Kyle Busch would be the most interesting American driver to see in F1. Because while he has a lot of personality and great car control, he's a major asshole.

Robbie Gordon...
After the Marcos Ambrose incident... there is no way i want that man in Formula One, in fact, i dont want him near any sort of open wheel car ever again.

I think Will Power should be given a chance, he has gone a lot in that Walker Racing car. NHL have always been front runners and Minardi (hvm) have won a few races in the last couple of years... while Walker has not. He has turned them around and made them into a force in Champ Car... He did have a successful test with Minardi a few years ago (was faster than Will Davison)... so someone... Give will a go!

Will Power could be in F1 for name recognition alone.
