Default Catalunya 2011
Hello,

is there any info if the Catalunya will be tarmac only again?
Last year they said it will be 50/50, but then I read they want to go back to 100% tarmac.
Does someone know why?

Regards,
hype

It will be like last year, just a few changes: first leg mixed gravel/tarmac then only asphalt

The rally guide 1 has been published, but finally the maps and itineraries will be published on 10th of June, after the presentations on Salou and Barcelone.

Best regards!

Do people recommend doing this? I've heard it's quite relaxed and first day on gravel and half of shakedown makes it interesting for me.
What can you compare the gravel sections to? Any jumps/watersplashes?

I think that gravel rallies like Portugal, Sardinia and Greece are more spectacular than the gravel parts in Catalunya. And I think that the asphalt rallies like Alsace (and maybe Germany) are more spectacular than the asphalt sections in Catalunya... But if you want a combination, it looks like an interesting rally.

I liked the Catalunya 2010 very much.
It's quite cheap to visit and the Spanish are very friendly and relaxed.

I think the landscape is much more different and more interesting than in France.
France 2010 was like forest, forest, oh a forest! and forest again

I'd really love to go there again this year...

Hi everyone, does anyone have any info about the new gravel stages on day 1? I have been to Catalunya 4 years running and 2005 but only on day 2 and 3. We are thinking about doing Friday afternoon and then the next 2 days, so any info welcome.
Thanks in advance.
BTW great experience every year.
