Television actors and Kollywood celebrities dazzled and were oozing with glamour what with their remarkable performances hogging the spotlight in Chennai on Sunday for the event of Miss Chinnathirai, the beauty pageant exclusively for television actresses.

The event was filled with fun and the sizzling dance numbers by television actors Tinku, Deepak, Neeba and Priyadarshini lifted the tempo of the crowd.

Temple Dance Company members also performed for the peppy songs that had the gathering spellbound.

Singers Mahathi and Rajesh belted out melodious songs from the latest films. The event was totally stolen by Carnatic singer Mahesh Vinayakram. Mahesh sung from his own composition ‘Kunnokol Rap’. There were totally 10 contestants to compete for the Miss Chinnathirai.

There were four rounds - traditional wear, individual talent, western wear and the question from the judges.

After and intense healthy competition among the contestants, television actress Riyaa was crowned as Hero Honda Miss Chinnatirai 2008 by Kollywood actress Sangeetha.

Second and third runners- up title went to television actresses Tarika and Anisha respectively and they were honoured by Tamil film director Maadesh and Kollywood actress Anjali.

The panel of judge comprised Chennai- based model Kaavya, television serial director Thiruselvam, film actress Anjali, film director Maadesh and Miss Chinnatirai 2007 Santhoshi.

Kollywood beauty Actress Sangeetha made the gathering go in raptures when her presence as a chief guest was felt. Overall, the crowd went home happy and excited after having seen their favourite actresses and stars from the entertainment industry.

The event was hosted by actor Vijay Aadhiraj and organised by television actor Vishwa.
