For those in Chicago, I'd hit up Reckless Records and Dave's Records. I'm excited! I haven't tried to snag these rarities before.

I thought there was supposed to be a Kate Bush picture disc? I don't see it on the list.

I'm going to hit up Cheapo Records in Minneapolis and see what they've got. Usually they're pretty reliable for Record Store Day though. Dunno what I want! So much interesting stuff.

I'll go to Truck Store in Oxford which is my nearest proper record shop. Record Store Day was great there last year as they had an in-store gig by excellent Oxford band Little Fish.

Hope I can get a Kate Bush picture disc!

Excited to see that there will be a few new St. Vincent songs out there, and that the latest Sinead will be out on vinyl. I actually haven't listened to it yet because I've been waiting for the freaking thing to come out on vinyl!

Oh, and a new Feist song ... yay!

Last year I knew about this but I don't think many people were hyped over this (at least not people I knew, except for a few blogs I read) but this year I m really looking forward to this! I even found stores near me that are going to participate. Yay!!

The Kate Bush Lake Tahoe/Among Angels 10" pic disc is a UK exclusive.

All the UK releases are here

I'm so excited about RSD this year! I got a handful last year, but there's tons of stuff I want this year... I'm going to be at Coachella during it, but they have a record store ON the festival grounds that is participating that day!

My picks, no way in hell I'll walk out with all this though:
Arctic Monkeys 7" (1340)
Battles 12" (750)
David Bowie Starman 7" (2000)
Crosses 7" (1000)
Lana Del Rey 7" (2500)
Florence + the Machine 7" (3000)
Garbage 7" (1000)
Grouplove 7" (2360)
M83 7" (2000)
Neon Indian 10" (500)
Pelican 2x12" (750)
School of Seven Bells 7" (600)
Sigur Ros 2x12" (1250)
Regina Spektor 7" (3000)
St. Vincent 7" (2500)
Straylight Run 12" (750)
Tegan & Sara 12" (3000)

Also heard about The Cure Entreat 2x12" and Fleetwood Mac self-titled 2x12" (45rpm) being released, but they're not anywhere on the list... I'd get both of those as well.

In line at a Chicago shop! I'm kinda far back and they don't open for another 54 minutes. Hoping to snag the Garbage, Lana Del Rey, and St. Vincent 7".

I just checked my local store's list of records and they didn't import any St. Vincent.

I've been in my local record store in Oxford for most of the day. I haven't bought any vinyl but have picked up Rufus Wainwright, Soap and Skin and Borderville (local band who played a great set in-store) CDs and a Daniel Johnston CD and t-shirt pack. A good mix of bands have played so far with one more to go.

I've saved up for months, since I knew I'd want to go a bit crazy today with all the exclusives. So after months of prepping, I got up this morning with my best friend and went to Amoeba SF. The line was 3 blocks long-- I have never seen anything like it. It was like Black Friday for vinyl enthusiasts!

Here's what I snagged:

Beach House "Lazuli" 7"
Amanda Palmer + Grand Theft Orchestra 7"
Florence + The Machine "Shake it Out" 7"
Sara Watkins (f/ Fiona Apple) 7"
St. Vincent "Krokodil/Grot" 7"
My Brightest Diamond 7"
Garbage "Blood for Poppies" 7"
Sara Bareilles "Stay" 7"
Black Prairie "Singers, Vol 1" 7"
Bruce Springsteen "Rocky Ground" 7"
Regina Spektor Russian songs 7"
Brendan Benson "What Kind of World" 7"

The Cure "Entreat" 180g 2-LP
Fleetwood Mac "White Album" LP
Tegan + Sara "Get Long" White LP
Sinead O'Connor "How About I Be Me (And You Be You?)" LP
Leonard Cohen "Live in Fredericton EP" LP
Pete Townshend "The Quadrophenia Demos 2" LP
Patti Smith "Horses" LP
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals "Sun Studio" 12"
Bonnie Raitt "Slipstream" 180g 2-LP
Paul Simon "Graceland" 180g LP
Sigur Ros 12"
Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends LP

And there goes my music purchasing for the next long while. sad I missed Laura Marling and Ryan Adams, though!

Wow, that's an impressive haul Peter!

Amazingly, over here in Spain, I managed to get most of the things I wanted: Kate Bush, Morrissey & David Bowie picture discs, the Garbage 'Battle in Me' 7", and also Velvet Underground and Arcade Fire, plus a dear friend in the States got me the Abba 10".

It's sad to note that there were 1,000 copies of the Kate Bush disc printed, and at the last count there were 92 on eBay - all for ridiculous prices.

I was so sad the Kate Bush picture disc was international only. Supposedly they did 2 printings though: 1000 for the UK and 1000 for the rest of the world (but not the US). Can anyone confirm that?

Personally, I would have preferred the Battle in Me 7" from Garbage, but I'm pleased with the US release too

If anyone wants me to pick them up anything from Amoeba, let me know. There's still tons of Lana Del Rey, Abba, etc. I wouldn't mind helping anyone out if they're not near a record store that stocked too much stuff!

I think that's right, because the store I visited in Barcelona had 3 copies, and I know it was on sale in Germany too.
