Here's my transcription of the lyrics to "Carry." I have been out of town for a week and a half, so if something is wrong and/or has been posted elsewhere, sorry.
![]() Love, hold my hand Help me see with the dawn That those that have left Are not gone But they carry on As stars looking down As nature's sons And daughters of the heavens You will not ever be forgotten by me In the precession of the mighty stars Your name is sung and tattooed now on my heart Here I will carry, carry, carry you Forever You have touched my life So that now Cathedrals of sound are singing, are singing The waves have come to walk with you To where you will live in the land of you(th?), Land of you(th?) You will not ever be forgotten by me In the precession of the mighty stars Your name is sung and tattooed now on my heart Here I will carry, carry, carry you Here I will carry, carry, carry you Forever. |

First impressions:
-her pronunciation is nowhere near as ridiculous as it was -there is baby voice but its way toned down compared to anything prior -replacing Mac Aladdin with strings was a fucking good plan -I do not miss Matt and Jon. Like at all. -The arrangements are lovely -It is clear that Ms. Amos has been finally listening to something other than Led Zeppelin and Elton John. THANK GOD. -I already like these two songs better than anything on AATS, not like that is saying much. They are actually interesting and pretty and musically competent. -Not blown away, but then again, my fave Tori songs never blow me away on first listen. |

Okay, IN LOVE with Nautical Twilight. I am listening to Carry right now. Her vocals are lovely.
*sigh* It feels good to be excited about an album of hers. It's just beautiful. These two songs sound like the old Tori, but how you think she would have matured. I am not one to really hate on her other albums, because I like parts and sections of each album. But I never loved WHOLE albums like I did on BFP or FTCGH. I have a feeling this one will give a feeling of those past albums without repeating her past output. Which is what I always wanted from her. This sounds lush and very dear to her. |
