I posted in another thread how I had this excellent vision of Tori performing Shattering Sea with the Quartet on Letterman and kicking all ass on that show. That would boost album sales and win her back some street cred for sure.
Why no TV performances with the quartet? For every album, she does TV promotion with the band, or solo, but this time around, she hasn't performed once on TV with them and she really should do so. These recent tour performances are amazing, dynamic, showcase her musicianship, and are a completely new way of touring for her. My friend in Europe saw her on TV and said, "Oh, I saw Tori Amos the other day, singing another ballad." And I realized that for the last round of promo, the public image of her last few records has been "Carry," "A Silent Night With You," "Sleeps with Butterflies," and "A Sorta Fairytale" All of which are good songs, but are not representative of the more passionate, engaging songs on the albums. If she wants to boost album sales and attract old fans (not to mention attract new ones) she would do at least some TV performances with the quartet. They are all doing such an amazing job together and their work is only being shared in low quality audience youtube videos, it's crazy! |
