Default Any stock traders living in the dr.
I like to trade stocks and options in the states. Any out there trades stocks/options or runs an online business in the dr? Was wondering how you overcome the power outages and surges issues as well as the internet speed when money is on the line for your investments or livelyhood. How is day to day life with an online business in the dr.

Ahhhh. Not sure how to answer this?

Ya... I trade all day long. BUT... I made sure that I have reliable and protected power. Many options for the internet and most good... I've only been down a few hours in 10 years.

My wife has her consulting/writing business here too and works all day long via the internet, web/skype/webinars meetings with very little problems. We do have back up communications IF/when needed. Again... having a "back-up" plan and system is needed.

Here is what I do...

Reliable Electrical Power = Street Power + Invertors/Batteries + Dual Redundant Diesel Generators
Reliable Internet = Codetel DSL + Banda Anche + Satellite Internet

...and this is just for my television!
