it depends on what you are looking for. ikea catalog will give you a basic idea of pricing: http://www.ikea.com.do/catalogos/pdf/colchones2012.pdf

Where are you north or south and what town for a better answer @Dv8, thanks, basically the reason I posted this is because I initially saw those catalogs and found the prices for the colchones pretty high IMO. I hope Im not wrong. |

ikea prices are very much ok for normal mattresses, new. because memory foam mattresses can easily get to a 100.000 pesos. DR caters to everyone, you can find something at any budget, really: from used (re-filled and re-covered) to some high class imported stuff.
we bought ours in santiago, actually, in plaza texas. there is a nice shop there. you can lie down and try their models. they have cheaper and expensive, all sizes. free delivery and a discount upon cash purchase. |

Mattresses for those sizes will start around RD3000 and top out around RD8000-9000 for the better "locally made" queens. My advice is to lay on them first before using. I just bought one close for RD5000. It's ok, but the design is behind the times. You can actually see them build one for you if you want.
The imported ones will be a whole lot more. |

chip! what on earth? our king size was about 25-30k pesos (can't remember) and i thought i was a good price. 5k pesos for a mattress? is it a slab of sponge sewed inside few old t-shirts? |

In March we bought bunk beds for our grandsons, full on bottom, twin on top. We bought the mattresses at the same place [in Palenque, south coast] - got a gorgeous, comfy, pillow-top full size mattress for about 8,000 pesos, I think the twin was about 3000, not pillow top [for top bunk, rail not that high, with pillow top the kid could fall right off].
At the same time we bought those, La Sirena was running a 20-25% off sale on all name brands [Sealy, etc], so check there too, they had some nice mattresses. |
