I think that it is cheaper to fly to florida than to puerto rico.. Tickets from here to there are always close to US $300 and can rise to $700 over Christmas.

Yes, I have. I spent time in Puerto Rico and used my Medicare there.
My experience was very good. Most doctors there are US trained and speak English. Medicare is no problem and there are many there on it.

What you will have to calculate is whether it is worthwhile to pay to go to Puerto Rico in order to use Medicare.

Default Medical Services in Puerto Rico
I'm a newbie to DR, as of August 15, and am just starting to receive Medicare...ah, the joys of turning 65. I just discovered that we Medicare recipients can receive Medicare care in Puerto Rico.

Has anyone here done so?
