If you still pay tax to the U.K. government and you make a donation through a U.K. registered charity the government will contribute an additional 28p for every 100p you give.
We made our donation through the BBC to the Disasters Emergency Committee - Haitian Appeal. It can also be accessed directly DEC. It is important to tick the "Gift Aid" box as this is what enables the charity to reclaim 28p for each pound you donate.
