Default Does anyone know of a Christo Pagan blessing?
I know some consider themselves as Christo-Pagans. I just wondered if there is a nice blessing that can be used that is not offensive to either side. I am a liberal Christian and have a lot of respect for Pagans. I am going to a family event with Christians and Pagans present and I wondered if people can point me to a nice blessing that will not offend.
Thanks for your help.

Hey, Pete, I had some. I don't know if I still do. I have done a couple of weddings where I had to use a "generic" ceremony. Give me a day of so and I'll look.

Any news. I am going to meet my friends soon.
Thanks..

I suppose I could use my own prayer which all are free to use but if you have something better I would love to see it. :-

May that which strengthen you, sustain you.
May that which lights your way, ever guide you.
May that which brings happiness, be always with you,
and may love and peace be never be a stranger to you.

Pete..

I like yours, very nice.

Last year, at my family reunion, I gave the blessing of the food, since my family don't know that I'm eclectic in my beliefs; mostly pagan/Wiccan, but I do draw from Christian beliefs, too; I gave a general blessing thanking the Deity and Creator of all things.

Just say what feels good and whatever is placed on your heart to say, and things should go well.

Have Fun!

Blessed Be

Thank you my friend.
Well it went off without any mention of faith or beliefs. It was just a mutual well wishing get together with no conflicting problems. I guess that is what is essential in the end.
Thanks anyway..

Long before Christianity, the Pagan world knew the Goddess as, "Queen of Heaven." Since then, the Catholic Church has given that title to Mother Mary.

A blessing in the name of the Queen of Heaven would leave everybody to interpret according to their own tradition.

Better yet, keep it simple. "Blessed be" should be safe enough.

Now there's a thing.
Last sunday,as it was the weekend after my birthday,I took my second youngest sprog and my grandweans for a bit of scran.
And as it happened, just as the grub arrived, and we was about to get stuck in,she said blessed be.
Turns out she is a dyed in the wool pagan.Observes all the ceremonies like Imbolc etc.
Now all I have to do,being an actual reverend,is find someone to get her married to.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
may the sun shine warm upon your face
& the rain fall softly upon your fields
& until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand/ An old Irish/Gaelic Blessing.

Kinda similar to, :the lord bless thee n keep thee;
the lord make his face to shine upon thee,&be gracious unto thee;
the lord lift up his countenance upon thee,& give thee peace.

Shalom was a blessing used with the Hebrews for both a greeting & a goodbye, sort of a Peace be with you,as a translation./I come in peace,I go in peace...

If we are not following any particular tradition:

"Blessings of Light and Love."
