I would like to hear essays from others, here is mine:
Things I Believe I believe that the Earth is my Mother, and while I've not always been the best of sons, I will continue to try, for that is Her due, and my responsibility. I believe that the Sky is Father, and that the vastness of space is Grand Mother, and Grand Father. What lies beyond that is unknown, and perhaps unknowable. I believe I have been here before, and after I leave I will one day return. I believe life is a great wheel that continues turning. I know this because I see the seasons change, I watch the stars, planets, and moons move in an eternal dance in the heavens. I see the birth, and the death of all things living, and I know, I am a part of, and a traveler on that wheel... I believe that we each create our own worlds. By our thoughts, beliefs, actions, loves, and hates, we forge our own realities. Realities that overlap, circles entwining, connecting, linking, circles upon circles creating diverse encompassing realities. Thus we have a world full of other people each with their own unique reality sharing our world, and we theirs. I believe that when two, or more realities join, and become as one, it is perhaps the hardest trial, and greatest blessing, that we can experience. I believe that Truth is eternal, infinite, yet malleable. Truth is not one single idea, or driving force in the Cosmos, but rather an infinite diversity of thoughts, and ideas, which are held by each of us in our own way to be valid, and as such becomes "The Truth" within our own individual circles of reality. That my Truth differs from another's to a lesser, or greater degree is immaterial. It is My Truth, and is as valid to me as another's is to them. To ask me "what if you're wrong" is meaningless, and in the end divisive, and destructive. It serves only those who feel a need, a drive even, to make as many other circles as possible join with theirs, and make all of them share the same Truth. In doing so it excludes the "non believers", and frequently attempts to vilify those who are "different". Sadly, this prepares paths leading to a "Believe as I do, or die" reality. I need no one else to validate my beliefs, or my Truth. I am content, and calm to sit within my own circle of light, and to let others sit peacefully within theirs. If perhaps any one finds me, and wants to share aspects of my Truth, or I theirs I will welcome them with an open heart. I believe that where we go when we leave this physical world is determined by what we believe to be Truth. The possibilities are as endless as the dimensions in the Cosmos. They include eternal bliss, timeless nirvana, endless torment, black soundless oblivion; or, perhaps, a warm place by the sea with a large tree on a hill where one can sit looking out over the ocean, to contemplate their spiritual progress, and plan what they need to learn on their next turn of the Wheel. These are things I believe. |

I believe that my life is only limited by what I believe about it.
I believe I am unique...yet I believe so many are like me. I believe that belief in Goddess makes so much more sense to me than believing in the God of the Bible. (Oh man...I want to do more of this later when I have more time...Excellent topic!!!) |

Things I believe....
I believe in me. In my ability to adapt, learn, and grow. I believe the best advice "words of wisdom" are found in quotes of others. They have lived and experienced more than I. However, I love being the student and challenging their beliefs if they don't ring true. I used to believe most people (especially me) know the difference between "right and wrong." However, the more knowledge I gain, the less firm I am in my beliefs. - I think rock-hard beliefs thrive in closed minded people, and it hinders growth. Oddly, I believe life and death are exciting times. Oh, I have no idea what occurs after death ... maybe we become the "one" or part of the oneness? I'm in no hurry to find out. Earth life is still exciting to me. I believe I could do much better witting this. But because of time constraints, I simply must be satisfied with this short start for now. I believe in love and marriage. There a security to life with a lifelong partner who loves and gets loved. I believe hard work makes me feel good. I believe in loyalty to a manageable amount to people (not that I can manage them!), but loyalty to 5-15 people is a must in life. Acceptance of your friends / family regardless. That's why selection is so important. More later.... |

I believe in One Supreme Truth that is known by difeerent Names.
I believe in enjoying Life by developing Understanding, Love, and Compassion. I believe that even though the World is in a state of constant change, I can enjoy its changing beauty and learn to love the sentient beings who live in it. I believe in turning away from evil, in doing good, and in liberating myself from the conditioning that I have been subject to througout my life. I believe in freedom.
