Will living morally get us into "Heaven" "Summerland"? I guess this presumes their is such places and that we are not just recycled...or...maybe we are recycled differently isa we've lived our life morally?!
What does "living morally" mean to you? Also...is "living morally" the definition of "religion"? |

YES IT WILL!!!
The one constant denominator in the vast majority of religions and spiritualities is their core Principles, Virtues, and Morals!!! That is why I am so darn ticked off that Muslims, Christians and Jews kill each other. They have the same God and they kill over semantics, they have the same principles and morals, yet they insist on self-righteoussness and arrogance over the actual dictates of their prophets and saviors. The reason I say yes is because it is apparent that when you theologicaly study all these religions, spiritualities, myths, etc. You find that it is just a superiority label! ~smiles~ We should technically all be able to get along great, but we don't!!! ~sighs~. My belief (because I really don't know) is that if you live a life of Good Prindciples and stick to your guns you will be rewarded with Heaven, Summerland, Happy Hunting Grounds, Valhalla, etc. just because you are one of the few who are actually capable of doing it, so even an atheist can pass if they lived a moralistic life! ~smiles & crosses fingers & chuckles~ |

many people believe in heaven,or some type of afterlife.i find those to be a state of mind rather than a place.
in general, atheists will tell you once your dead, your worm food, and that's that. i like the term recycled,it describes what i think happens better than reincarnated.however, depending on which belief system you look at,it means different things.hermano louis can explain this better, but the hindus as i understand it believe that depending on what type of person you were in this existence determines what you'll come back as.there is something about the brahma involved, but i don't fully understand it.in buddhism(generally)we think(we don't know for sure)that what do you in this existence follows you to the next.some refer to it as good and bad karma.karma is niether, but i digress.so it could be that what you don't learn this trip, you can in the next.not all buddhists subscribe to this but we also think that once we have learned all we are supposed to,we return to the universe(brahma is the same idea, tao is related, but not exactly the same concept.jimbob will correct me)many people mis understand and call it nirvana.nirvana is a state of mind, like enlightenment, not a place. so what people actually believe, they aren't wrong.we don't know, and as far as i know, noone has come back to say any different. |

The game is rigged. No one ever wins the dolly. To answer your question Connie, I'd need a definition of moral. What is morally required of you (a White Middle Class American-I'm assuming) might be reprehensible in Mek culture. |

"Certainly the game is rigged. Don’t let that stop you; if you don’t bet, you can’t win." -Lazarus Long (R.A. Heinlein) Good to see you, my friend. Been keeping busy? To the quote. Yes, that is why I will never win the lottery. You can't win if you don't play. Peace & Love! |
