Default A question about "legitimizing" a church
This Q is for the US members.
Just what is necessary for the recognizing of a religion in the courts of law?

There is a difference between recognizing a religion versus a church.

For a church: It depends. You need to send for an application for tax free status. There is a requirement for 3 officers, a congregation, a meeting place, etc.You must have at least one ordained minister of some sort.,, and a lot of bureaucratic patience.

I can get more details if you'd like...
