Default Symbols of Faith
Who in the Tribal Forest here wear something that indicates their faith, such as a cross, pentagram, etc. that exhibits their faith? Are there any who are afraid to wear such things or finds them unneccesary?

They don't make any thing like that for Discordians....
I feel so left out.

Wait. No I don't.

Nevermind.

My 3 tattoos are,the one on my wrist Pentagram with a crescent moon, the one on the back of my neck Celtic Trinity and on my ankle I have a Fairy she represents Fairy Wiccia.

Sometimes I wear my pentagram rings or pendent.

So yes, I do wear to represent my path/faith.

No, I am not afraid...I don't care what people think of me or how they view my tattoos, etc.

Was it necessary for me to go as far as I did,as in the tattoos. For myself, "yes" was a way of dedication to my path.

I've always worn a pentacle and a pentagram ring but not since maybe last Christmas out of respect for my new father and brother in law. I've always considered them a talisman of sorts. For a long time I was kind of afraid to go out without them...but I've found them not quite as necessary as I once thought.

Well,

I have my cougar claw (imitation) that I sometimes wear and I really don't care what anyone else thinks about it. I have had people ask me about it though.

Peace & Love!

I have a tattoo of a pentagram, rose and crescent moon on my ankle.
I wear various jewelry with various signs & or emblems - Celtic eye, hand, key horse, cat, Ying yag, totem, ankh, each has it's own energy and use. For ritual I like to wear appropriate jewelry but it's not nessary....I love jewelry;-)

Ohhh....well, I suppose my not wearing any religious symbolistic accouterments is symbolistic enough for me....

Not that I consciously decide to promote my non belief of course !!

Do you have a picture of your tats, I'd love to see them as I am planning on getting one soon.

If you look in my gallery you'll see a picture of an amethyst/quartz/citrine point that I wrapped and wear all the time. Attached to it is a small pentacle that folds behind some of the ornamental wrappings. I work in a doctors office and do not want to be too obtrusive. Yes people do wear their star of David or Cross, but their are still a lot of people that think the pentacle is a sign of the devil. We've recently had that discussion here on this forum.

I wear my traditional wedding ring and also two thumb rings. Both thumb rings are plain bands. Up until recently one had a pentacle on it, all I had to do was rotate it so it wouldn't be outwardly visible. That is until I was doing some yard work and had a run in with my 2 1/2 pound hammer and thumb. Now my size 11 thumb is a size 13. I have to get new rings, my plain band rings fit ok, but the pentacle ring is about 1/4 inch wide and doesn't fit good.

I do plan on getting a tattoo in the near future and if my wifes and my business takes off I won't have to worry about anyone seeing what I wear as we'll be working from home.

I exude my religion, without symbols....though I guess my Baphomet necklace helps.

Its true that these things aren't really neccessary, objectively speaking. But they are neccessary to some on a personal level for the fact that you are displaying who you are, just in case they couldn't guess it already

As it is, I don't display it around my family as a rule.

One in-law finds my beliefs facinating, the other finds them blasphemous.
I try to refrain from wearing symbols just because in our small town area that is a really good way to get lynched.
There was a nice new age shop in a town about 40 miles away, they actually had protestors, you would catch people at the grocery store worried about the witches and pagans eating their children....seriously!!
This is not a good place to run around with a giant pentacle hung around your neck!

I always have my pent on( the one that can be seen in my Avatar image just beyond the dragonfly) there are only two in existence, Mine and my soul shard Panther shaman's...I find that wearing out always donea few things, it has people ask questions. Which for me works I think education about the Pagan beliefs is so so necessary
and has empowered people to firstly know that it is alright, and no need to be afraid. that there is some where safe to go even, to talk for information, if I pass them along to another better suited to help them in what ever they may need.
I live on the east coast its a bit more open with things where I am.
I Make hand made jewelry and ritual needs for a living I can not count how many have come through that I felt left with a sense of relief to find some one else that is out there all because of my very special bling!~L~

I have a Celtic heart with the family Initials tattooed on the inside of my right forearm. That is my "religious" symbol. As I have a very Celtic background, and follow a very Celtic, drudic style path, sort of. It doesn't really fit any one style, but that sort of matches.

The Tattoo was designed to stand for my freedom to be and believe what I choose. Non book-oriented, but Earth Based, Love based, Self based learning my way back to the Universal Spirit.

I don't know how to add a picture on here, so I will add it to my gallery!

I used to wear a tulsai bead necklace but in my line of work I would break it all the time. (A/C tech) I got tired of restringing my necklace and just quit wearing it except for special occassions.

I do have my tats but no one can see them when I am clothed. (www.myspace.com/tukarama)

I have rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, anklets, and toe rings that reflect my beliefs. I wear some of them sometimes, and then I won't wear any for a long time. I like all my bling, but I do not need to wear it. I guess I see it as decoration. Does a tree really need decorations to be beautiful, no but sometimes we do it any way.
