Default The STAR by New Creation Church

The church will move to a new 5,000 seat auditorium as its future worship facility in the new building named The Star Performing Arts Centre (also called The Star) in Buona Vista when The Star is completed. The Star will be opened in 2nd half 2012. The Star is planned by Rock Productions, the business arm of the church, together with CapitaLand.

The Star is envisioned as a "futuristic complex with restaurants, shops and a 5,000-seat theatre", and costs nearly SGD1 billion.[24] The church has raised approximately half its SGD500 million share of the new building's cost.

As the anchor of The Star Performing Arts Centre, both the church and its business arm, Rock Productions, are to manage the civic and cultural zone of The Star. The church owns the 5,000 seat theatre, multi-purpose hall, outdoor amphitheatre, special function rooms and other facilities to serve the church's congregation. The Star's retail and entertainment zone is not under the management of the church and Rock Productions as CapitaMalls Asia will manage this zone.

The church will rent space owned by its subsidiary, Rock Productions, in the complex for Sunday services.

Mega-churches are for those who want to satisfy ther material well-being without any guilt.

Those seeking spiritual well-being will find it in smaller churches.

A real success story for a bayi Joginder Singh whose Sikh dad and chinese mum came from Malaysia and while doing National Service began prayer group. Also admire his Deacon Matthew Kang whose insurance premiums which makes him a millionaire comes from the same flock. Nothing like not buying a cow but milking it to Kingdom come. And then they claim they don't take a penny from the church.

Mingyi must be banging balls. Better become pastor than a monk.

Nobody is going to audit NCC? Or will the authorities close one eye and apply the gentle touch on the emotive subject of religion?

Deacon Matthew Kang is the chairman of its building committee and apparently the spokesman of the NCC church council and honorary sec.
He really likes to be called "Deacon" both at Manulife Financials as well as in the church. Looks like someone is not able to separate religious and secular, or perhaps prosperity gospel preaches there is no separation.
