New age churches and the lifestyle of their pastors ![]() ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JQoC0JwHlg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WP_MryKHxg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm1LbIlmtfg ![]() I have heard from some of my Christian friends that they do not agree with the teachings of this so-call new age Churches and the lifestyle of their Pastors. Their teaching emphasizes materialism, wealth and prosperity as blessing from God and urge their followers to strive for them, and then be thankful to God by donating some of it to the Church. It looks like a money making organisation disguise as a Church to them. These so call Churches have quite similar formula. Get a charismatic man with excellent oratory skill and well verse in the Bible, and next things you know, they have tens of thousand of followers joining the Church and contributing 10 per cent of their wages to the church willingly, and by GIRO! And you see their Pastors paying themselves $50,000 salary, zooming around in million dollars sports car, living in million dollars Penthouse or landed property. If you point out these Pastors’ wealth to their followers, they will defend him by saying it is a blessing from God. These are truly misguided sheep of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. We know what wolf do to sheep. If these Pastors are not considered rich, I don’t know what is. I wonder if their Pastors ever tell them what Jesus said in this verse: “It’s easier for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Mark:C10,V25) This is probably one verse that their Pastors never want them to discover in the Bible. . 1 Timothy 6:3-10 NIV
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. |

Same same as ministerial salaries lah....
Church needs to attract talented people to serve as pastors. Pastor job is a sacrifice. Top church talents need to be paid close to private sector wages. Mega churches are unique. Total salaries are only make up a small percentage of church donation collections. Pastors cannot command respect if they are paid less. |
