I doubt it is another religion. Catholics pray to Mother Mary in their prayers, there is also a Catholic Church named Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, it is located in Siglap. Some of my catholic friends, instead of a cross hung on their necks, they wear an image of Mary.

i was talking to my catholic friend and briefly about stories about the fat and lean cows and he went "huh?"..
"didnt you read the bible?" i asked and he replied, "no". i went to discribe stories after stories from the OT, and he simply has no idea what there were about except for those "well-known like Noah, Moses and Adam.

How did he managed to so religious and be so ignorant about his belief? i was perplexed.

but i will work on him slowly to bring him up to the atheist's par.

Maybe (just guessing) that your catholic friend just believes in Jesus and anything from the OT is old Jewish stuff which ought to be discarded? I once asked a catholic how come other churches give 10% of their salary and not them catholics and he told me that 10% (from the word "tithe") is Old Testament and that as a follower of Jesus, it does not apply. Don't really know.
