I guess this isnt really all that far fetched but Ive noticed over the years that there seems to be a concerted effort on the part of Hollywood to glamorize cities that are considered Liberal and to demonize or make fun of predominately conservative cities.

Cities like LA, Seattle, San Fran, New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas, are constantly cities you will find mentioned favorably or used as the setting in movies or TV series, but you never see cities like Houston, Dallas, Denver (although I think Denver is liberal), Atlanta, Pheonix, etc...if you do they are the but of a joke or snide remark.

This goes for movies, cartoons (Family Guy, Futurama, etc) TV shows and even in pop music.

I'm aggrivated with Black Gold too. I know they are specifically (supposed to be) focused on the Oil Rigs but they have made us look like a bunch of rednecks who do nothing but fight and act idiotic. Anytime they show Midland it's either the bars or the Boss's meetings.
