Here you go, Nline:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Russell Attracted by financial prospects, Russell set out for China, an assured profitable venture. He arrived in Canton, China, in 1819, engaging in trade on behalf of the Providence firm of Edward Carrington & Company in various goods and products including opium, an extremely profitable activity despite being outlawed-yet protected by foreign forces. The profits made by Russell enabled him to found Russell & Company in Canton, China, in 1824. Dealing mostly in silks, teas and opium, Russell & Company prospered, and by 1842, it had become the largest American trading house in China. It kept its dominance until its closing in 1891. Russell withdrew from the company in 1836. He returned to America, and lived in his mansion in his hometown of Middletown, Connecticut, until his death in 1862. The mansion, now bearing the name of Samuel Wadsworth Russell House, had an elaborately-decorated interior; Russell had brought back many souvenirs and antiques from China, as well as gifts from his Chinese trade partner, Howqua. Russell made his money in opium. During this time in history, if a man was wealthy, it was shared in the family and the family was required to be loyal and tight knit in return. So much so that a lot of inbreeding actually happened (and continues) among some royale bloodlines (they are all connected after all the intermarrying and inbreeding). But i digress... ....here is where the conspiracy really starts with the Russell family: Russell is cousin of William Huntington Russell (1833) who was Co-founder of the Skull and Bones Secret Society at Yale University. The whole reason this was brought up is because of a discussion around the convenience of the date of 3/22 for the passage of health care reform. The connections: 322 is the numerical designation in the Skull and Bones (known, actually, as "Skull and Bones 322"). The Russell family founded the concept of big pharma by finding a way to legalize their opium imports. It was labelled as "medicine" and PRESTO, you have a legal industry with which to peddle your opium legally. Add to this the fact that they helped found Johns Hopkins, which "revolutionized" the medical field by promoting research, not process. Another major boon to big pharma. And then the coup de gras: the passage of the Health Care Reform bill, on 3/22, that will be a major win for....big pharma. ![]() |

? So, what you are saying is, this person legitimately made his money in opium trade (when it was illegal), and there is nothing further to see here? BTW, when i said that the Russells made their money in opium, you said that the only thing you could find was on Johns Hopkins. When i post further information, you "pretty much know about that". Am i wrong in percieving a disconnect? |

a couple of other coincidences:
322 bc is the year that aristotle died. (his influence on rosicrucianism is immense) 3/22/80 was the year that "RC Christian" had the Georgia Guidestones erected/unveiled (RC Christian is a play on words, relating to the founder of Rosicrucianism, CRC or Christian Rosenkreutz). Of course, there are assertions that Rosicrucianism is trying to bring about the supposed "New World Order". Which brings up the next reference to "322": Colossians 3:22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. |

"Wink, wink...nudge, nudge" The only thing I said about Johns Hopkins was that the Russell family did not found it. I could not find any reference to the Russell's providing any funds towards JHU. I never said that I had not heard of the Russell family or their ties to Skull and Bones. The 3/22 line is pure crap as is all numerology. A good class in statistics will show that it is mere coincidence. |

Opium wasn't made illegal until 1914 before then it was perfectly legitimate. And I hold libertarian views that such ventures should STILL be legal. ![]() Take awhile, dig into what Rosicrucianism is and its history. I would recommend reading Manly Halls book Secret Teachings Of All Ages (for free on Scribd). Numerology as a "science" is bunk. You are right. However, numerology as a way to encode information is not only real, it is done by just about everyone. Ancient Hebrew has a numerical system that is interchangable with their written language. At the end of the day, if the number "322" was meaningless, then why would this organization include it in their name? This isn't just some beer drinking frat. This organization has taken part in grooming half the leaders from the US since WWII. What is the reasoning behind it? |
