I have noticed that there is some confusion as to the status of the conspiracy forum and why changes were made. Conspiracy is now an open forum to registered users of MOF.

Do we want to change it back to private?

Please use this thread to express your opinions on what Conspiracy should be. Should it be a fun private staging area for forum conspiracies or should it be an area for serious discussion of conspiracy theories? Or something else altogether?

I think open forum gives it a better chance to "breath." There might be more activity and discussion. Keep it open for any subject of conspiracy.

OTOH, being public might call for heavier-handed moderation at times, but that shouldn't usually be a problem unless something gets outta hand.

Not to mention PMs and Rep comments poking fun at things i have posted in here. So now i just stay away from it in general, and grimace if i am mentioning anything conspiracy related.

i leave 911 alone. i have my thoughts, and you wouldn't believe them even if i showed you the papers on how it could have worked. but it is still highly speculative.

You tell me. If it is private then no one will see it. I don't mind a separate forum for categorizing the topics but making it private simply because you don't want to see it isn't kosher with me. The atheist forum was done the same way by ORDER of the MRT management because they didn't want to offend the fundamentalist viewers. talks

Conspiracy is only semi private though right? I mean all registered members of MOF can read and post there....that is a little better.

I guess I don't remember it being an open section in the first place I thought it was private because the members "wanted" it to be that way. There is no cause for it to be private unless the members want it to be. I understand what you are saying now.

It was never open. It was created as a private forum to get the tin foil crap out of the open forum. Mostly spearheaded by Txy. It wasn't with out merit there was this guy that was posting a lot of stuff and he'd hijack threads to do it. Hijacks I have a problem with but starting a topic I don't see an issue with. And I don't care what forum you post in. I read using the check all new post feature so I don't even pay attention to where it is posted unless a problem crops up.
