Default Is a discounted submarine a German bribe?
http://israelmatzav.blogspot.com/201...proesting.html

Germany is providing Israel with a sixth Dolphin class submarine, at a discount of 135 million Euros. Why the discount? Here's a report that suggests that the discount is a bribe to convince Israel not to protest too loudly against German trade with Iran. And that it's not the first time it's happened. One theory is that Germany "donated" the first two after it was discovered in Israel that the Scud missiles launched by Saddam at Israel had German parts that helped extend the range. It certainly is true that Israel quickly hid the remains of the Scuds after initially asking Americans to look at the foreign technology involved.

"...to convince Israel not to protest too loudly..."

Not much of a problem there for Germany; Israel seldom protests loudly. Six Dolphins is good news. With some submarine tenders and/or overseas bases, Israel's navy could develop a world-wide reach.
