An absolutely brilliant long essay on what went wrong with the left. Written by Nick Cohen, a journalist and of impeccable leftist European cred. You WILL want to buy this book. For me it was cathartic to understand that the morons now are just more of a long train of losers and morons going back almost a century.

Yeah, it's a good one. I bought it years ago, not long after joining this forum in fact, after reading some chapters which had been published in the Guardian of all places. A real eye opener and a very descent primer into the hypocrisy of many in the new left. I prefer the other cover though.

Terror and Liberalism, by Paul Berman

Berman is an academic whereas as Cohen is a journalist. It reads more academically. But it is a brilliant dissection of the history of liberalism's trend toward totalitarian fascism and anarcho fascism going back to the 1860's.

I would recommend any Berman title. The next one in my queue is "Flight of the Intellectuals.
