There was a radio programme a few weeks back discussing how important vitamin D is to health.
It has been discovered that a lack of it in the body is directly responsible for over thirty serious illnesses. Brittle bone disease and Multiple Sclerosis being two. The chief way to get plenty of vitamin D is via sunlight. It was noted that where burqua wearing was prevalent so were the incidence of these diseases. |

There is an article I browsed today in either the Daily Mail or Express which chronicalled the banning of Burqua and Hijab wearing in Islamic countries like Syria and Jordan>>>>>>>>>>>>FOUND IT:-
BURKHA BAN RACIST? WHY DO ISLAMIC STATES DO SO THEN? http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...es-do-so-then- ![]() Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia and Syria have banned the wearing of burkhas in schools and universities Sunday October 3,2010 By Emanuelle Esposti WHILE Britain and European countries debate whether to ban the burkha, Islamic nations across the world have been quietly introducing tough anti-veil laws themselves. A Tory MP has launched legislation for a ban on women wearing full face coverings across the UK, saying we should follow the example set by France and Belgium. The Sunday Express has discovered a surprising accord between the views of centre right European politicians and Islamic governments. Muslim countries such as Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia and Syria have banned the wearing of burkhas in schools and universities – and they did this with little fuss and widespread public support. The governments of these Muslim countries, we can reveal, have long attacked the burkha as an outward symbol of religious fervour, with most people against the sight of veiled women on their streets. In Turkey and Syria, a country dubbed part of the Islamic “axis of evil” by George Bush in the run-up to the Iraq war, the burkha is considered a dangerous threat to secular values. Women who choose to wear it are often frowned upon by society. The government in Jordan has tried to discourage veils by playing up reports of robbers using them to hide their faces. “It seems bizarre that these countries have been happy to go down this road, when it is proving such a struggle in Europe,” said Phillip Hollobone, Tory MP for Kettering. He came under intense criticism earlier this year for likening the veil to going around with a “paper bag over your head”. “I am pleased that the French have changed their law,” he said. “Many Islamic countries have similar bans already, and they did this with no bother at all.” He has launched his Face Coverings (Regulation) Bill, which is due for its second reading on December 3. “I don’t believe it is possible to have a fully integrated society if some people insist on going round with their faces concealed,” he added. “People would think it very odd if men went round covering their faces with balaclavas.” France criminalised the wearing of the full veil last month. Earlier this year, Belgium became the first European country to ban full Islamic dress. Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria and Bosnia are all considering similar legislation. Yet in the non-Muslim world, where few women wear the veil, opinion is deeply divided. Women in Australia have held demonstrations against recent proposals to ban the burkha in New South Wales. In Canada, there were security concerns last month when a film of two fully veiled women boarding a plane without identity checks was posted on YouTube. The Hollobone Bill has been widely condemned. Many believe it is an issue over which no government should legislate. Isabella Sankey, director of policy at human rights group Liberty, said: “Mr Hollobone might consider himself an expert on religion, but he is certainly no expert in commonsense. “If a woman believes a veil, cross or Star of David is important to her faith, who is he to interfere without good cause? “Earlier generations died for British freedoms and we owe it to them to defend this legacy.” In Holland, far-Right Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders has persuaded the new coalition government to introduce a bill to ban the burkha. “A new wind will blow in the Netherlands,” he said. “This nonsense has to stop.” ================================================== ================================================== === AND MEANWHILE IN THE UK GIRLS ARE FORCED TO WEAR IT BY ORDER OF OFSTEAD THE UKs EDUCATION WATCHDOG TO READ CLICK BELOW British schools where girls must wear the Islamic veil Hundreds of girls are bring forced by British schools to wear the Islamic veil in a move which has been heavily criticised by mainstream Muslims. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education...amic-veil.html |

Hollobone has every right to object to having to deal with veiled constituents within the confines of his office but as for banning items of clothing in public places such as the street, that just swings back to men telling women what they can and cannot wear.

From news article: The way in which different European countries respond to the debate over Islamic face coverings for women is beginning to offer important insights into how well they are mentally and culturally equipped to deal with the continent’s ever expanding Muslim populations. After the French parliament almost unanimously approved a ban on the burka on July 13, the focus of attention in Europe has now shifted to Britain where Conservative MP Philip Hollobone is introducing a bill to parliament which would forbid the wearing of the burka or the niqab in public places. It has now emerged, however, that the deeply entrenched forces of multiculturalist political correctness in Britain have already begun to mobilise. Hollobone is being threatened with legal action under the Equality Act for refusing to hold meetings with voters in his area who insist on wearing their veils. He argues, reasonably, that proper interaction with women wearing face coverings is not possible and suggests that if they want to raise an issue with him they send him a letter instead. According to the BBC, the multiculturalist civil rights group Liberty has pledged to offer legal representation to any Muslim woman whom Hollobone refuses to meet. |
