Good point.
Clegg shouldn't have got the leadership. He wouldn't have done either, had the postal strike and his refusal to allow for it, not gone in his favour. I've heard Clegg speak - and I've heard Huhne. The difference is like watching a 6th former take on the Headmaster. Clegg is all 'anti-war-we-must-be-kind-'cos-we've-got-millions-of-victims-and -aren't -I-remarkable-to-give-speeches-without-using-notes-just-like-CallmeDave?'; whilst Huhne is more 'screw that - we can't scrap our military defences or allow thugs to roam unfettered' On some points I do agree with the LibDems. I'm violently anti-ID cards, the DNA database and the surveillance/instrusion society. I'm also anti-big government and believe that local affairs should be dealt with by local communities. I don't agree with their pro-Europe stance or their inability to see where this country is heading. |
