CARDIFF/LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's opposition Liberal Democrats sought on Monday to use a surprise surge in support to present themselves as a credible governing party before a national election on May 6.
The poll lift prompted the center-right Conservatives, who just a few months ago looked on course to beat the ruling center-left Labor Party and emerge from opposition after 13 years, to hit back with warnings of political deadlock. ... In the latest of a series of shock poll results, a YouGov survey published in Monday's Sun newspaper found the Liberal Democrats, or Lib Dems, in first place with 33 percent, with the Conservatives on 32 percent and Labor on 26 percent. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...041901426.html Wow... just wow... |
