Hi folks,
I'm trying to find and round up people who have had problems with the pre-installation of their Airconditioning pipes in Novamar. I had an Aircon unit (hot and cold) hooked up to the pre-installation about 2 years ago and have used it infrequently - I think my tenant used it. Now that the heat kicks in, I have started to use it and have a nasty wet patch under the unit, leaving a stain etc. Apparently, this is a very common problem and has occurred with many Novamar owners - so I'm trying to push the builders, TM Torreblanca to respond - even though they have told me that it is just outside the 3/4 year guarantee... They'll have to open the wall, repair, seal, paint etc. Could you let me know of similar experiences? I saw a lawyer this morning, the claims assessor is coming in the next few days... and I'm just getting preparing myself. Thanks folks |

It is a very common problem indeed. We did have the same problems two years ago and managed to get TM workers to repair the pre-installation. That time they were still busy on the Novamar site.
See the attachments of the "problem". Thanks to Novadesta we knew that the problem was common. Maybe they can give you advise as well: Novadesta, Novamar-3 No. 1 & 21 http://www.novadesta.com (+34) 966 698 212 |

I also live on Novamar (5) and I had a similar problem............it was easily corrected..........the drainage pipe had been cut short and fell out of the condensation collection tray.
The firm who installed mine did say that there had been quite a few problems with drainage pipes being incorrectly fitted on the earlier phases of Novamar. Regards John |

Thanks for all the info - invaluable information when I want to give TM the opportunity of putting things right, ensuring client satisfaction etc.
Novadesta rented my place out while I was overseas, and actually had the Aircon unit fitted. They say it is no exaggeration, that over 90% gave similar problems... Now let's see if TM want to respond... Will keep you posted! |

hi guys,
The initial reaction of the Loss adjustor / claim assessor?? (Perito) was that the Aircon unit is not covered by my household insurance (but they would pay to re-paint). However, THE EXTRA INFORMATION THAT I GAVE, CITING YOUR EXPERIENCES, INDICATING THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS WIDESPREAD, MEANS THAT I AM PROBABLY COVERED;-) There was also a watermark on the other side of the wall, which would indicate that my problem indeed originates from the faulty / insufficient outflow that was PREINSTALLED by TM! It now looks as though my insurers will deal, and they in turn will seek to recover their outlay from TM - THEIR understanding of the law is more profound than mine, and THEY coincide with my opinion that TM should respond! So it's thumbs down to TM, but big cheers to Jelle at Novadesta for his vast information, experience and responsiveness, and thanks also to Pete the Aircon man! |

I had problems on Novamar 3 initially with water pouring down the wall.Found the problem was dirt within the pre installed overflow pipe. When not in use this then sets and blocks the pipe.I usually disconnect the overflow from the unit and pour in hot water and a little a few soda crystals at least once a year.It seems to cure it.
