Hi Kurt,
I am not sure, but I belive that there is one connected to a shop that sells dive gear on the front in Santa Pola. If there is not one attached they should know of a local one, being suppliers. I do not know the name of the shop but it is on the front somewhere down below the Correos or if you stand with your back to the port, where the Tabarca ferries leave, walk to your left along the front. It also sells fishing Tackle. Someone else may know the name or details of a dive club Good luck Gadget |

hi there, both my husband and I dive and have found that diving in Spain is a bit hit and miss... Hopefully your friends are confident divers and the following won't put them off.
Scuba Elx in Santa Pola are the cheapest for hiring gear, and their guide keeps track of diver. Their dive brief is non existent, no buddy checks etc. Their Santa Pola shop is open at the weekends, when they go out. Their Elche shop is open through the week - you can get air fills etc from there. La Escuela Mediterranea de Buceo, in Alicante port is about twice the price. No dive brief, guide is ok (not up to our expectations - we're pretty demanding). We met people from Scubasport (English couple, you can find their Spanish mobile number on http://www.scubasport.co.uk/). Yet to go diving with them, but they seemed sensible. Great diving in Javea, either at the dive centre by the Lonja, or with Pascal (German guide, fluent in Spanish and English). pascalmar.com We had a hairy experience diving out of the base at El Campello (catching novice divers as they drifted to the surface in dry suits!!). Send me a pm if your friends want more info. My hubby may be interested in doing a shore dive with them from Carabassi. More bubbles, less troubles. |

Our daughter and son in law, ( both experienced divers )went with Scuba Elx last year.... they were horrified, and at one time refused to dive, the boat broke down, and not only did the skipper ask if any one had a mobile phone,,,,, he also said does any body know the number of Scuba Elx....!!!! not to be reccomended ...
