Default help lemon tree
I THINK ............ although I 'aint no gardener, you get the fruit on the new growth which grows after you prune it back. I don't think you should cut off too much though. As for moving it, I am pretty sure, when we bought one at the garden center, she said it is okay to plant them from a pot but not to move them at this time of year.

Hi Clare, I think that now would be a good time to replant as the weather is cooler in Spain and the soil is not too cold, as the lemon is evergreen and there is not a dormant period just a slow down in growth its probably a good as time as any, put some compost in the bottom of the hole when replanting and tread the soil down so that there are no air pockets around the roots, water and keep moist, its the same as planting trees in UK.
