Neighbourhood watch is one of the largest successful crime reduction initiatives in the UK. Behind it lies a simple idea and a central value shared by millions. Here in Spain the system has proved very successful and has helped people to feel safer in their homes and reduced crime.

How does the scheme work?
Neighbourhood watch can be as large or as small as the community want. For example it can be just one street, a small village, a large city or the whole country as in the UK.
The scheme is led by a volunteer coordinator whose job is to get people working together and makes sure things get done.
