The strategy sounds right but not practical.

I don't play slots so I shall defer to your expertise on this. Can you please share why it is not practical?

I would rather suggest you to go to those mystery progressive prizes slot area. These progressive prizes where they usually set a max amount (eg $5,000) if you see the progressive amount already $4,200 -$4,500, it's likely to release prize soon. I won 3 times of these progressive prizes at RWS with this method. I missed a few times because I've choosen the wrong machine. This is actually the same principle as what I had posted. By setting a max jackpot on the progressive, they practically rule out a positive expectations game from ever occuring. The good part of playing these slots is that you don't have to meticulously keep a record of the progressive jackpots which makes it good for a casual/lazy player. The bad part obviously is the loss of the chance of ever playing any positive expectations slot.

Think, it is necessary?
The standard is quite good already, if you are lucky, you receive a deluxe room which is bigger, comfortable, high floor with nice view.

As to the actual room given at time of check-in, fingers crossed that it'll be a higher-floor one [Above Flr 15] & a Deluxe one
On the website seems that the Deluxe is more expensive by just about $20 or so ??
If desired is it possible to ask to "upgrade" to a Deluxe with $20-30 Premier Dollars - if only Standard Room given at check-in ??

Is there any convenient online menu with prices for our pre-study ???
Suppose we can utilise the Blazing 3s $10/$20 Discount Vouchers with expiry dates [or even the Premier Dollars for this - but think using for as many boxes of mooncakes here should be much better value/usage ?]

If you want a nice room, timing is everything. Suggest you find out official check out time and check in 1 hr before the offical check out time. This time usually has the number of free rooms available (too early, previous guests have not left, too late, all good rooms taken).

When you are checking in, make a request to the girl at the desk. Indicate that you are a very light sleeper. Tell her also that you are allergic to dust which can cause to have a running nose.

Given that you are a premier customer, they will do their best to look after you. They will try to give you the room you are looking for or possibly upgrade you for free if there isn't any good room available. This is because the girl would not want to risk putting you in a room facing the construction site. This is because you had stated the request up front. If she puts you in a room facing the construction, you could kick up a fuss about being kept up all night and/or having a allergic attack.

Decided to take supper at home since dinner would have been 'tarpaued' for me tonight and also 'waste not want not' : better 'preserve' my Premier Dollars for proper meals + buying the mooncakes etc

Then thought I might as well takeaway the MBS sandwiches
- one of each variety (Egg Mayo & Turkey Ham Cheese)
- NOT payable with Premier Dollars and thus paid $8 [$4 x 2] for them
Walau - on opening the packs at home discovered they'd gone stale
- lettuce etc was all off, threw them away as didn't want to risk getting diarrhoea

Must complain/feedback to MBS Management
- the staff should ensure that only FRESH sandwiches are sold and to discard those after a certain no. of hours
I didn't check mine at point of sale [knock my head !!! ]
-they MUST have been at least 18 hours old judging from the overall look & smell ......
Eeeeeks - no more such sandwiches for me ... ... ...
Safer to rely on Instant Noodles [if I really have to]

book your room asap to aviod the full occupancy! I have lost my complimentary rooms in August and was told that the rooms have been fully taken up for the month.....
Do not waste your premier dollars on the BFs, the foods are sucks and not worthwhile at all.You can try the lunch which is 45++, not too bad..compare to the dinner, I think the buffet lunch is much more worthwhile to go for.
The check in time can be from 2pm onwards and you may request for 12pm check out.
Rooms are given 100% complimentary,therefore you need not have to pay a single cents or even the GST..no worries!!
Need not have to waste your premier dollars for upgrading...the premier deluxe room are good enough...

The cardinal assumption is that you have to be a regular that goes once to twice a week. If you go once in six months, then this is useless. For Genting they publish the value of their most popular progressives and whether they have been struck. You can therefore monitor online and go down only when the progressive you like looks good.

I have seen many of frens who play progressives try to remember how much the jackpot was last time they played and whether it is worth playing when they are at the casino. Seemed only logical that you make a log of your fav slots so you know what is good to play.

The emergence of syndicates who play aggressively progressives/lottery when they turn positive is quite well known on the internet. Instead of sitting still and losing money, the casinos can be expected to come up with counter measures like the mystery progressive you wrote about earlier.

Definitely a topic for further investigation if they lift the levy and Singaporeans are able to go in for free.

The progressive prize release "frequency" at MBS is not as good as RWS, which someone has mentioned before. However, it does not mean they don't release, it's just more difficult to "monitor" when is it going to "drop". MBS has given away 5 or 6 Fafafa 1st progressive prizes and RWS only once. MBS gives BIG one more often while RWS gives mini mini prizes daily.

Sky park, I never visit, I heard that you just need to show your room card and you can enter as many times as you wish (as long as within the skypark human traffic)
