Sir Alf Ramsey, knighted for managing to the win World Cup for England in 1966, so was Sir Geoff Hurst (West Ham), for his hat-trick to seal the Final win against Germany. So was Sir Bobby Charlton (MU), for his brace to seal the the Semi-Final win against Portugal. Sir Bobby Robson, knighted for managing England to the 1990 World Cup Semi-Final.
Sir Matt Busby, knighted for managing to MU to Euorpean champions in 1968. Sir Alex Ferguson, knighted for managing MU to European champions in 1999. What happened to Liverpool's Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, what happened to Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish, who managed four European champion titles for Liverpool between them? How come they're not knighted? Even Sir Trevor Brooking (West Ham) has been knighted. |
