I wish you would tell us how you really feel .
My only rejoinder is that this money is not just going to a soccer stadium, but to also help revitalize a depressed area, and using land that was otherwise being unused. They are also building housing, stores, etc. A bunch of Private money is being used as well. The tax revenues this stadium, and the rest of the developement, not to mention the increased bridge tolls of Soccer fans coming from NJ, will generate, will help to defray these costs.
Also, I believe that many people feel the same way, and that when the tolls were raised, they started changing the way the Port Authority uses the new revenues.

no.
Why not. Everytime a goal is scored a giant slot machine should come down. 3 Seven's gets you an extra goal.

No, I hope it does well. If they sign Ronaldo, I'd buy season tickets.

The one that exposes floppers and breaks up families, of course.

Thanks Ashey. I should have posted this myself but forgot. I actually got a call a week ago from a marketing guy for the Philly Franchise telling me about this contest - having sent them money for a season tix deposit. I am also a charter member of the "Sons of Ben" fan club set up a few years ago to promote this team coming to Philly so they also told me about the contest. I have already voted for "City", but I have been trying to think of a better name w/ no light bulb yet.
The team guy told me the prices will be announced sometime in the next week or two and they will be expecting our money some time this summer - w/ the tix in the SOB area being the cheapest (not sure I want to stand and chant the whole game in some area behind the goal {but might check it out for a game or two}). I hope I can afford the two tix I signed up for on top of my Phillies tix.

Phor the Philles?, no - just a 17 game plan. The full is way out of my price and time range (the wife thinks I already go to too many games). Maybe if and ever I can retire . As for the soccer, we do not know yet what kinds of plans they will be offering.

So which city will be joining after Philly? Miami is out.
Maybe it will be St.Louis. They deserve a team with their soccer history.

If I were a Philly fan, I would have voted Union or Spartans.

Good Luck!

St. Louis would be my guess as well. It wasn't untill Philly was in the running that I read about S.L.'s soccer history. I think I posted something about that somewhere on this forum.
Sorry about no Miami, Andy . I would ahve guessed that on a bad day they could get higher attendance than the Marlins, even w/o the gimmicks.
