Fair enough.

Regardless, getting back to my original point:

Bring me the shrivled, torn nutsack of Andrew Breitbart!

As for Sherrod, her "it's about the haves and have-nots" in which she generously allows that whites can be have-nots, and her some-of-my-friends-are-white defense, are both lame. She still doesn't get it, and is still as racist as her audience.
In what sense is "it's about the haves and have-nots" racist?

[Q=Guynemer;5837951]Between the Journolist debacle, the rise of noted sack of lying, racebaiting **** Andrew Brietbart (or however the **** you spell it), and the continued inverterate shitting-themselves-shitless of the allegedly "liberal" Democratic Party, I have officially given up any hope for the future of American political discourse. We, as a people, are a bunch of marginally-retarded, highly-factionalized, giant pussies.

If any of my fellow Polytubbies can convince me otherwise, please, do your best. I ain't holding my breath.[/Q] Breitbart released the video primarily to illustrate the reaction of the NAACP audience, who murmured their approval that aid was withheld from the white applicant. This is one of the best joke posts in this thread.

. . . . cause you're not being serious, right?

Er, except no aid was ever withheld and the audience was told in advance that this was a story about how she came to understand she needed to help all poor people without reguard for race and that she needed to get over her past feelings (she was distrustful of whites after he father was lynched and murdered by the KKK in her family's frontyard when she was a child). Also the story in question took place in 1986 which was 23 years before she started working for the government.

I seriously have to ask if you've been living under a rock if you haven't figured this out yet? Did you miss Fox News scrambling and trying to pretend their previous line (which you parroted completely) never happened?

Exactly. Breitbart made the video to be about the opposite of what it really was about.

I saw on CNN yesterday or couple days ago that showed how Sherrod and the white farming couple of this whole story had become friends.

In a forum with Ben, Kidicious, etc, this may end up being the most distant from reality thing ever posted here. That is quite an achievement.

If you have proof of this allegation you need to get it to Sherrod post haste in order to aid in her ability to press charges against Breitbart. Breitbart claims, and has so from the beginning, that he was provided only the editted clip. He claims he ran with it rather than verify context. Eivdence of neglect (akin to what all the other networks, white house and NAACP did) rather than malice. Seems rather an indictment of baseless racist accusation and how harmful it may be.

Considering no one from Fox News contacted Sherrod to get her comments before they ran with the video, that at least demonstrates the utter incompetence and general shittiness of Fox as a news network.
the network didn't touch the story until her forced resignation was made public Monday evening ...

Once Sherrod's resignation was confirmed, it was obviously a significant news story that media outlets were entitled to chase.

But O'Reilly is just a talk show host, he's not a reporter.

Speaking of Glen Beck... any thoughts on his Black Founders' episode?

Here's the links to more... I realize no one is going to sit through 40 minutes of Glen Beck though...

Okay. But even given this, he still should have apologized to Sherrod and as far as I know, he hasn't.
On the grounds that it is the moral and correct thing to do absolutely. On the grounds that it sets himself up for an admission of guilt that can be used aginst him legally probably not. Given that Breitbart is a journalist morals and correctness probably have little to no bearing. Onlys slightly more so than your average pol.

Sorry to shock you, but that is Glenn Beck, and as a regular listener, nothing in those clips are strange to me.

What do you think?

To be fair, I think his overall point with the special (didn't watch the whole thing but it's what I got from his conversation with one of the panelists) was that liberal historians have been systematically 'white-washing' history and ignoring the contributions of minorities. He had a political agenda behind it but I could be wrong. Also, that little partisan selfishness doesn't really undo the good of educating people.

I'm not defending the job of the media in the Sherrod fiasco, I'm saying that the claim that it was ginned up by Fox is hogwash at best and doesn't match the facts.
