When it comes to the Air Force Security Forces career field, they are NOT the best and brightest. Most members of the SF career field(not to be confused with US Army Special Forces), are Army and Marine Corps rejects who generally hold ASVAB scores of 27 and who want to have the impression that they are out there kicking down doors, when in reality they stand on the flight-line for 12 plus hours watching aircraft remaining motionless.
About the only thing members of the security forces career field are good for is friendly fire, since they have a reputation for firing on NATO/US pers. Now this is mainly due to the fact that their personnel do not have a proper system for advancement in their MOS (of whatever the hell the AF calls it), but instead simply read the standard SF literature, write a very basic test and generally get promoted. |
