Too stupid to make it through life doing anything else? Gee, let me see some Marines...

One of the several astronauts who served in the Marine Corps (not to mention John ****ing Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth!)
That is most definitely not John Glenn in that picture.

John Glenn certainly would be more effective than that no-name astronaut.

And Corzine? The guy who lost to the worst Republican in New Jersey? Good example there, too.

When it comes to the Air Force Security Forces career field, they are NOT the best and brightest. Most members of the SF career field(not to be confused with US Army Special Forces), are Army and Marine Corps rejects who generally hold ASVAB scores of 27 and who want to have the impression that they are out there kicking down doors, when in reality they stand on the flight-line for 12 plus hours watching aircraft remaining motionless.

About the only thing members of the security forces career field are good for is friendly fire, since they have a reputation for firing on NATO/US pers. Now this is mainly due to the fact that their personnel do not have a proper system for advancement in their MOS (of whatever the hell the AF calls it), but instead simply read the standard SF literature, write a very basic test and generally get promoted.

The Navy and Air Force, from my understanding, promote based on you passing tests... you don't get promoted for what you do but how well you score on a test.

Intelligence is important but just because you're book smart doesn't mean that you can lead men into combat.

.

Another example of the “quality” personnel that grace the ranks of the Security Forces…
