Default Germanics
What do the colors mean? Green - ecohippies, blue - cold and bordering the evil Finns, orange - threatened by desertification?

"Germanix" sounds like a microbiology themed Lego pastiche.

Aren't the French also Germans, only with a Romanic language?
Good point. And aren't the Finns something else?

The French are Germans. The Bretons are sort of Celto-German. The Finns aren't really human at all, and the Basques are a myth.

Why is Ireland considered Germanic? Is this strictly a linguistic chart?

Yes. Basically the colors/shades correspond to dialect groups within the Germanic branch.

It's a wellknown hidden fact that Celtics indeed are closet Germans.

So Gaelic is pretty much the same as English while Germans can't understand each other?
Not saying they can, but really, Gaelic?
Gaelic is not a Germanic language.

In reality it's a map of Germanic languages in reality, not of non-Germanic languages. You don't see Sami or Sorbic or Meänkieli on it either.

Born Eastern Orthodox, but converted to Catholic would be a more refined guess.
