Default A poem by George W. Bush
I know this will draw smart ass comments, but I always knew what he was trying to say.

I used to work at a retirement home and I knew what the people with dementia and other mental issues wanted.

If compulsive lying counts as a clinical mental disorder, Bush would have fit right in at such places.

I had to learn to try and sync my brain and mouth. My brain works fast and I was spitting a lot, trying to talk at the same rate. Drool. That sort of thing.

Do you start talking in the middle of thoughts you're having? You know, in your mind you've started, then you speak, and people are like, "What?" ?

I want to say one thing about Bush's struggles. If you think about one of his more well known misspeaks, "You can fool me once...". If you think about it, it's at least a little cool that when he was struggling with that, his fall back was The Who.

Yes, I've always had similar problems. If I don't pay attention to what I'm saying I'll drop words or mangle them and merge them. I'm scatterbrained also so on a larger scale I need to focus the topic of conversation and ensure I don't keep branching off in random directions.
I think I am similar.

As dumb as I think Bush is, people give him a bit too much grief for his speaking difficulties. He's afflicted with a bunch of weird issues that result in Bush being Bush. The most blatant are homophones and transposing words.

Not everyone's brain is wired the same way, so the way it thinks and orders things internally may not be what is dictated by correct grammar and sentence structure. What comes naturally to others is something that is more mentally arduous for others.

I can sort of sympathize because my brain's a bit ****ed up also, requires some careful attention dedicated to ensuring what I'm saying is coherent. I'm kind of all over the place upstairs, in case no one noticed.
Taro Aso used to have that same sort of problem. Then the voters of Japan put him out of their misery.

Oh, no. Can't do that. If people did that, they'd really notice Obama.
