Family expenses aren't relevant, we're talking actual income, not disposable income.

Where family comes into it is that gay men and women might be less likely to be hindered in their professional careers by family, so they are more likely to take that big promotion with more money but requires them to move across the country. A straight person with a family might be less likely to do so if they have to uproot their kids.

Education broadens the mind and all that and shouldn't just be done for the purposes of research...seems a shame that by now I have forgotten so much, but in terms of the work I do now I don't think it has helped me that much, continuous experience in work has helped me in that respect. Of course I don't work any more in the field I was educated and is only very tenuously connected.

I'm still right

Their sample is of men who are willing to admit they are gay. This population almost certainly has different characteristics than the total population of gay men.

You said the evidence didn't support my conclusion. The evidence clearly did support my conclusion, and then you claimed you were right.

No. You drew a conclusion about gays that can only be reasonably applied to a subset of the gay population.

The stats show that men who identify as gay earn more than men who identify as straight. Simple as that.

If you are the one contesting the claim that the evidence supports, then it is indeed your problem to disprove what we know.
