You would think Oerdin would ecstatic that an aristocratic family that gained political power because a rich father bought their entry seems to finally be dieing out.
I don't like Aristocratic families but this is a death thread and you're supposed to say nice things about the recently departed. Drake didn't even wait for the body to get cold before he started attacking.

Drake didn't even wait for the body to get cold before he started attacking. It was the defining moment of his life, and the last moment of someone elses. How is it an attack?

How exactly did I "attack" Kennedy? I simply linked to the BBC obit and one of the pictures in the article. I made no comment on his death.

For our British posters: What are your views on Ted's monetary and political support for the murder of your citizens?

Charles Manson dies tomorrow. What do you say? He was good for family values?

He's dead. He did some good things (if you're a liberal, anyway) and clearly did one very bad thing. Do the good things (which only count if you agree they're good, right?) redeem the bad? I don't know. What I also don't know is why we (or our media, at least) react the way we (they) do when somebody like this dies.

Have we, at long last, no dignity?

edit: to be clear, I'm not whining about people hating on Teddy Kennedy. I'm whining about people making huge big deals out of politicians and celebs dying (or living, for that mater, I suppose).

To be fair, Kennedy dying is a huge deal. The Democrats are down a Senator until MA can hold a special election.

Yeah, funny how that law was put on the books to keep a repug gov from appointing someone but now that there's a dem gov they want to change the law back.

Another pathetic move by the dems.

It wasn't stupid to them at the time. They really didn't care about the citizens of the state, they were more concerned about their own power. Politics at it's best (or worst) depending how you look at it. They still don't care.

I doubt it. Allowing Romney to potentially clear the Republican field (which is all that a couple months of incumbency for a MA Republican Senator gets you) wouldn't have been a major concession. This looks more like stupidity than malevolence.
