Default Why we need the death penalty, and why I'm losing hope for humanity
the world is unfair, cruel, and brutal Dis... nothing you can do will change that.

How YOU react to the world is something that you CAN change.

Executing the retarded is only legal in Texas.
It clearly doesn't seem to be too effective. One of our Poly posters that would qualify for that recently fled Texas to take exile in Canada.

Explains why you've never visited. Texas is awesome.

If there was an alternative to the dp that didn't put guards and society at risk, I'd be all for it. See "Papillion".

I know I've said before I need to stop reading the news, it depresses the hell out of me. What kills me is some liberals still defend criminals. Oh I know, they were poor, that gives them the excuse to rape and mutilate women.

And they said the reports she wasn't mutilated were inaccurate, I beg to differ. The medical examiner said there was extensive damage to the mouth, vagina, and anus and an inanimate object was used. I call that mutilation. Lethal injection is too kind for these animals.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channon_Christian

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan_Williams_case

Both of these cases are hate crimes. Despite the police saying one is not- they just don't want to anger the black community I suspect. As the father said, you don't do that to a woman unless you hate. ...
Let me tell you why you are wrong in a couple of places.

First, I am a liberal, and I've hung around with a lot of liberals. I have never heard any liberal say, ever, that it is okay to rape, kill and mutilate if you're poor. The most a liberal will say is that the accused deserves a fair trial. (There's that whole 'innocent-until-proven-guilty' thing that our liberal Founding Fathers started.)

Second, you do not know what a "hate crime" is. It is not a crime done because of hating a person. It is a crime done to terrorize a minority community, such as when the KKK used to lynch and/or castrate Blacks, or when soldiers rape women to keep their community in line, such as what happened in Rwuanda and the Balkans. Your first link is NOT to a hate crime. A woman was brutalized, but it was not because of her ethnicity; it was because her tormentors were animals. The second link IS to a hate crime, as shown by the racial epithets hurls at the victim.

BTW: You've lost perspective on news stories. These stories are news because they are aberations. Most people are kind, loving people. The people who get reported in the news get reported on because they are not kind and loving people.

You want an uplifting story? I went onto YouTube, searched "cop hero" and this popped up:

I've visited, and it's not an awesome place. It's sweltering, and overly humid, and most importantly, full of gun-toting crazy people. It's no way to live.

Humid? I always figured it for overly dry, with it being a desert and all. But then, I've never been. Now, Florida, THAT's humid. It's like a giant armpit.

Most of Texas isn't desert, at least the populated regions are quite green. West Texas is another story altogether.

Well it's a shame. Texas is full of wonderful people, who are the salt of the earth. I'll take 100 degrees for 4 months any day. The happiest I've ever been is when I was in TX.
Texas people are only 'salt of the earth' if you look at salt as being caustic.
